OSHA fines Ohio company

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration discovered three workplace safetly violations at Ohio Decorative Products, a die cast metal products manufacturer.

The company was cited for one willful violation,one serious violation and one repeated violation. OSHA has proposed that the company pay $91,000 in fines. Some of the violations reported by OSHA had to do with machinery that did not have the appropriate guarding and could be potential injury hazards for employees. One injury occured when a man's hair became trapped in a rotating peice of machinery causing the man to be scalped. This accident prompted OSHA to investigate the facility.
