An Ohio jury awarded a couple $1.5 million in a medical malpractice case against two doctors in Akron, Ohio.

The suit claimed and the jury ruled that the doctor botched a bone marrow biopsy and commited malpractice when she nicked a nerve and cut an artery in the 52-year-old husband's hip. After the incident, the problem went unnoticed for days until the couple called another doctor who chose not to examine the man.

Five days after the surgery the man had two softball-sized hematomas removed from his hip and pelvis. As a result of the incident that man lost use of his right leg below the knee and suffers from chronic pain.

Medical malpractice can cause serious injury, our thoughts are with the victim and his family and friends.
