The 17-year-old girl responsible for striking and killing a 13-year-old boy in Evanston will be tried as an adult due to the heinous nature of the crime.  According to reports, the girl hit the boy, who became pinned to the front of the car and was dragged down the street.  Medical responders took him to Children's Hospital, where the child sucumbed to his wounds.  A 7-year-old was also injured in the accident, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

The girl is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.  She was held on a $175,000 bond, and is expected to go before a grand jury next week.
