Two construction workers were injured on a private construction site after a trench collapsed on them.

The accident happened in Hudson, Ohio in a neighborhood when the two workers were installing sewer lines when the walls of a 15-foot trench collapsed on top of the two men. Rescue crews and over 60 workers were at the scene for hours trying to free the two men from the trench. Five hours after the walls collapsed, one worker was freed from the hole and transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Seven hours later, the other construction worker was freed from the trench but his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
