The Whirpool Corp along with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have voluntarily recalled 1.7 million dishwashers due to potential fire hazard.

The recall was issued at 12 reports of dishwasher fires were reported to the product maker. The fires were caused after the heating elements of the dishwasher failed due to an electrical failure. Besides Maytag, the recall will include Jenn-Air, Crosley, and Amana. The dishwashers in question were sold from February 2006 through April 2010.

Unsafe handle caused recall of child's push buggy

by Administrator 17. May 2010 03:06

Health Canada and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling nearly 2.5 million child's push buggys because of an unsafe handle that can detach and may cause parents or caregivers to lose control of the object.

The products affected by this recall are the Step2 Push Around Buggy and Whisper Ride Buggy, in all colors. The products have a red "Step2" logo on the handle. Step2 Co., an Ohio-based company, has received 28 complaints about the handle detaching. The company has been selling the products from 1999 to 2009. Regulators urge consumers to check and make sure that their child's buggy is not one of the recalled items.

Drop-side crib recalled after three infant deaths

by Administrator 22. February 2010 07:31

Earlier this month, nearly 500,000 Generation 2 Worldwide and ChildESIGNS drop-side cribs were recalled.

The cribs were recalled because the cribs can break and the drop side can break and detach. Also, the mattress frame can also detach from the crib frames. There have been three infant deaths in the drop side cribs since 2002. The most recent, in 2007, happend in Ohio when an eight-month-old child suffocated after being trapped between the mattress and the drop side of the crib. A broken peice of plastic caused the drop side to detach.
