Around 9 p.m. on a man was riding in a car on westbound I-74 when the vehicle he was travling in slid off the road. He got out of the car to look at the vehicle.
A little while later, another vehicle was traveling the same direction when they lost control of their vehicle. The driver of the car hit the man in the side of the road and pinned him between both of the cars. It took EMS crews 20 minutes to free the man frm the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital in critical condtion and the next day was still in serious condition. The crash remains under investigation, but officials say drugs and alcohol were not factors.
