Child suffers head injury in car accident

On Interstate 70, near the Ohio/ Illinois line on February 16, a 5-year-old suffered a head injury.

A car driven by a 23-year-old got in to the path of a semi trailer. The 5-year-old was a passenger in the 23-year-old's car and was transported to the hospital with head and internal injuries. There was also a 1-year-old passenger was also in the car and and suffered bruises and contusions. The heavy snow and weather conditions made it impossible for a helicopter to fly to the scene. The 5-year-old was later said to be in fair condition.

Troopers injured in car crash

Two Ohio Highway Patrol troopers were involved in a one-vehicle accident.

The crash happenedd on U.S. 127 around 12:30 a.m. The cops were allegedly trying to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation when the driver of the patrol car lost control of the vehicle. It went off the road and flipped multiple times. Both troopers were sent to the hospital with non life- threatening injuries. One tropper has been released, the other is still in the hospital in stable condition.

Pedestrian Killed in Auto Accident

A Cincinnati man was killed Saturday afternoon while he was walking to a friend's house.

The accident occurred at about 2 pm on Saturday.  A speeding Acura sedan hit a young woman driving a Hyundai, catapulting it onto the sidewalk, where it struck the young man.  He was thrown over a fence for a distance of about 30 feet, and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Hyundai skidded onto its side after hitting a set of steps leading up to a house.  The woman was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  Police are currently investigating what caused the accident.

2 UC Students in Hospital Following Car Accident

Two University of Cincinnati students are still in a hospital at the University of Kentucky following a car accident which injured five Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers.  The other three boys have already been released.

The accident occurred last Friday at 8:30 in the evening, during a fraternity retreat to Gatlinberg, Tennessee.  About 100 young men were going on the retreat.  According to police reports, alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Two Dead in Ohio Car Accident

Two people died Wednesday in a fatal two-vehicle collision near Cincinnati.  The crash occurred at 1:40 in the afternoon on Route 41, north of Aberdeen in Butler County.  According to police, a woman driving a Buick lost control of her car and crossed the center lane, crashing into a car driving the other way.  The woman was killed, as was an 80-year-old passenger in the other car.

The accident is still under investigation.

School Bus and Truck Involved in Cincinnati Accident

A school bus and a trucka were involved in a traffic accident today in the Camp Washington area of Cincinnati.  The truck was trying to pull into the parking lot for a local business when the driver lost control of the vehicle and side-swiped the school bus, causing the truck to crash into the storefront of a local martial arts school.  No one was seriously injured, and the driver of the truck was only slightly shaken by the ordeal.  There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.
